HOW MANY CHILDREN born with defects could be PREVENTED by living a chemical and FRAGRANCE FREE life?
Renuzit has commercials showing good looking men, each with a different scent for each different room in your house... DO YOU REALIZE THAT EACH FRAGRANCE IS A combination of different CARCINOGENIC TOXINS that will DAMAGE your body AND your mind? These toxins release hormone disrupting chemicals into your body which create HAVOC on your immune and healthy system.
Beauty is a multi-billion dollar industry. These companies do not care about you or your family. They care about their bottom dollar and profit margins. I believe that these multi-billion dollar reasons are the detrimental attitude and reason the public is not truly informed.

People will go to great lengths to be “beautiful,” and cosmetics companies know it. It was not until 1938 that Congress passed the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, which gave the FDA power to act against dangerous cosmetics through the Department of Justice and federal court system. But the agency’s ability to address unsavory beauty products was limited. In 2004, EWG launched the Skin Deep cosmetics database, an online resource where EWG scientists have researched ingredients in popular cosmetics and personal care products. It aimed to fill in where industry and government left off. Today, Skin Deep lists more than 78,000 items.

At EWG, we know how much you care about the safety of personal care products. Over the next several weeks we will delve deeper into some of the crucial issues surrounding these products. EWG's investigative series, "Exposing the Cosmetics Cover-Up," will take on a wide range of topics that should be on the minds of everyone who uses a personal care product. As EWG has long known — and as leading medical specialists recently underscored -- many cosmetics and personal care products contain potentially toxic ingredients. Major cosmetics companies have not publicly committed themselves to removing harmful ingredients. We'll look at deceptive claims made by some popular anti-aging products. And we'll help you sort out cosmetics safety facts from myths.

EWG and the Keep A Breast Foundation today released a guide to educate consumers about some of the most problematic hormone-altering chemicals that people are routinely exposed to. EWG parntered with KAB to develop the Dirty Dozen list of endocrine disruptors to highlight the prevalence of these toxic chemicals, how they affect our health and simple ways to avoid them.

In this article, they state that fresh food rather than canned is better (of course), but what of those that now suffer from intestinal and digestive disease due to MCS or other toxic reactions within our bodies? Colitis and other intestinal diseases (Crohns) have to have all of our food overly processed BEFORE they go into our bodies. My doctor and diets on websites specifically state, "DO NOT EAT ANY FRESH FRUIT, VEGETABLES OR UNDERDONE MEATS". In other words WHAT do we eat if the cans are lined with BPA. The following is copied from the EWG website,
BPA
Some may say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but do you really want a chemical used in plastics imitating the sex hormone estrogen in your body? No! Unfortunately, this synthetic hormone can trick the body into thinking it’s the real thing – and the results aren’t pretty. BPA has been linked to everything from breast and others cancers to reproductive problems, obesity, early puberty and heart disease, and according to government tests, 93 percent of Americans have BPA in their bodies!
How to avoid it? Go fresh instead of canned – many food cans are lined with BPA – or research which companies don’t use BPA or similar chemicals in their products. Say no to receipts, since thermal paper is often coated with BPA. And avoid plastics marked with a “PC,” for polycarbonate, or recycling label #7. Not all of these plastics contain BPA, but many do – and it’s better safe than sorry when it comes to keeping synthetic hormones out of your body. For more tips, check out: www.ewg.org/bpa/
